Greenland Icecap.

Flying across Greenland, a very small icecap in this region near the coast, heading for Kangaloussaq, where we boarded the Akademik Sergei Vavilov.

Hard to capture in still photographs, this champion Greenland kayak paddler demonstrated to us a myriad of ways to roll a kayak and resurface alive in the icy water. Note the narrow paddle, which would have been handcrafted from a suitable piece of driftwood.
