"Macca" as it affectionately known by Antarctic staff, is a tiny speck of rock equidistant from Australia, New Zealand and Antarctica, out in the middle of the Southern Ocean. It is home to ridiculous numbers of penguins, elephant seals and other wildlife. The King penguins delight in swimming out to inspect the ships that stop to deliver tourists and supplies.
