This house in North Bundaberg was undermined by the flow from the river, and then partly subsided into the crater made by the river. It has also moved forwarsd several metres, after floating off its stumps. The maximum flood level is evident from the muddy line on the house and the debris on the fence. THis house is about 400 metres away from the normal river stream.

The remains of a on-site permanent home in the Riverdale Caravan Park, with one set of footprints leading to it, obviously made when the mud was still thick and wet.

Ruined and water damaged furniture and household items left out for council collection and disposal. Not sure why Winne was discarded, but he looked rather forelorn sitting on top of the trash.

A gouged out crater by the side of Hinkler Avenue, with the new Tallon Bridge behind. It stood up to the flood, but a large hole was washed out on the northern approach, rendering it unusable and the city divided by the river.

The maximum was obvious in several ways around the suburb. The debris on the mesh fences or the muddy level on the paint work of buildings. THis water level is about 10 feet above the street level.

Two things to note in this picture. First, the scaffolding washed down the river from somewhere else, with large amounts of debris attached, and second, the height of the scour marks on the eucalypt tree on the left, indicating the maximum height of the water.

Some houses were comprehensively trashed by the flood, while others adjacent were untouched. Possibly the concrete paving did not allow the floodwaters any small piece of access to start the erosion process.
