Remember Matilda!

With all the excitement of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, I was prompted to look at some old pictures. Matilda, the glamorous kangaroo from the 1982 Games in Brisbane, now resides behind a roadhouse and truckstop near Gympie. Minolta Kodachrome 64, scanned with a Nikon 5000 Coolscan, recoloured in DxO FilmPack 4.

Bronze Medal !!

Each volunteer at the games received a bronze medal with the word "Commemerative" on it instead of 1st, 2nd or 3rd. A good memento of a once in a lifetime experience.

Scoreboard.

Australia hasn't always topped the count of medals, but it almost did in 1982. A lot fewer medals to compete for then, England currently has 165 and Australia 132.
